A Letter from Our Founder

80 Years of Rich Sri Lankan Tradition!

I belong to a family of tea growers with a remarkable lineage spanning 80 years and three generations, situated in the scenic region of Southern Sri Lanka. Our identity is deeply rooted in family farming, which we hold dear as our heritage, our pride, and our way of life.

As a planter, I have always been aware of the exceptional attributes possessed by the tea cultivated in Sri Lanka. I formed connections with a select group of producers who waveringly adhere to traditional, uncompromising methods and standards to yield the finest Sri Lankan tea. Over time, a notion began to brew within me—a vision to introduce the utmost quality teas to the tea enthusiasts in the United States. Eventually, that notion blossomed into reality, giving way to 50 Acres!

As an avid tea enthusiast and cultivator, I embarked on a delightful journey with my friends, exploring the art of blending tea with the bountiful fruits and indigenous plants found in Sri Lanka. Together, we meticulously handpicked a selection of exceptional tea blends, celebrated for their unique flavors and abundant health advantages.* These carefully crafted creations now serve as the cornerstone of our extraordinary tea collection.

Guided by our fundamental Core Values of Honesty, Integrity, Respect, Perseverance, and Servant Leadership, we wholeheartedly dedicate ourselves ensuring environmentally conscious methods and the highest satisfaction of our customers. To better serve our communities in Sri Lanka and the USA, we pledge to allocate 10% of our before-tax revenue towards charitable endeavors.

With love,
Manuja Ranasinghe
